Profile
Ikuko Amanai, CEO of HighWell, Inc.
Graduated from Keio University with an undergraduate degree in Economics.
Received her M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School
of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, Massachusetts, USA. After
returning to Japan, she has worked for foreign financial institutions,
Japanese-affiliated security firms, as a secretary for a member
of the House of Representatives, and was a Japanese representative
for Montana State, U.S.A. From 1996, she became a member of the
technical translation specialists in computers and telecommunications
in a major foreign computer-related corporation, and pursued management
activities as the translation team leader. In April 2001, she founded
HighWell, Inc. as CEO.
English proficiency acquired from a wealth
of overseas experience, and vitality are her selling points. She
is responsible for Japanese-English translation and interpretation.
Her fields of expertise are computers, telecommunications, (particularly
cellular phone related) finance, international trade, government
and diplomacy. She is also skilled in English translation of business
documents such as presentations, proposals, etc.
About Our Partners
All of our partners, Japanese and native English speakers,
are excellent translators with experience of 5 years or more and strong
IT-related technical background. For example, our chief E-J translator
has a considerable amount of knowledge in network technology, comparable
to that of a system engineer. She has passed Class 1 Level of the Data
Processing Specialist Exam, as well as the Beginner Level of the Systems
Administrator Exam. She has a great deal of experience with handling
technical documents for foreign computer firms and clients. She has
taught J-E translation training courses at a major Japanese translation training company.
